Bichi Christians Pray for Nigeria, Call for Peaceful Coexistence Among Communities

By Jabiru Hassan, Kano

The Christian community in Bichi has reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful coexistence with the host communities, emphasizing the importance of unity and progress.

This assurance was given by leaders of the Grace of God Mission during a visit by our correspondent to their church as part of the Christmas festivities.

In separate remarks, Mr. Daniel Chinedu and Elder Monday Chinemere expressed their gratitude for the harmonious relationship they have enjoyed in Bichi for over 20 years. They noted that strong leadership within the host communities and among Christians has prevented misunderstandings, fostering peace and collaboration.

“Bichi is our home, and we will continue to stay here because of the cordial relationship between Muslims and Christians that has been sustained for decades,” they said.

The leaders further highlighted the role of prayer in promoting peace and development. “We regularly offer prayers for Bichi communities, Kano State, and the nation at large. Without peace, there can be no development. Our collective prayers will remain a continuous program,” they reassured.

In addition, the Bichi Christian community commended the member representing Bichi Local Government at the Federal House of Representatives, Engineer Abubakar Kabir Abubakar, for including them in his scholarship programs. They described his gesture as a demonstration of generosity and inclusivity.

“We urge other leaders to emulate Engineer Abubakar Kabir Abubakar by carrying everyone along, regardless of religious differences. We are very happy with his mode of representation,” they emphasized.
