Bimasa Residents Repel Bandits, Rescue Kidnapped Victims in Sokoto

Residents of Bimasa village in Tureta Local Government Area of Sokoto State have repelled a bandit attack, rescuing some kidnapped community members.

Eyewitnesses said the villagers organized a search party, tracked down the attackers, and engaged them in a fierce battle. The bandits were forced to retreat, allowing the villagers to free some of the abducted victims.

Reports indicated that the villagers also recovered the severed leg of one of the bandits during the clash, which they displayed in celebration of their victory.

The incident underscores the growing resolve of local communities in Sokoto State to take charge of their own security amid recurring banditry.
