Blame Northern Governor’s forum over Anti -Grazing Laws – Fulani Youths Coalition

..Say’s NSGF attitude pre-judical

By Gabriel Udeh, Kaduna

A Coalition of Fulani Youths Group (CFYG) have blamed the Northern States Governor’s Forum (NSGF) over the establishment of open grazing laws by the Southern Governors.

The Coalition, in a statement preparatory to Nigeria independence anniversary cerebration described the attitude of NSGF as prejudiced.

The CFYG in Nigeria under the leadership of Malam Abdulkareem Bayero, noted that the negative turn of events was as a result of decades of negligence towards the plights of the herdsmen by Northern Governors.

“CFYG under the Leadership of Malam Abdulkareem Bayero. has chastised the attitudes of Northern Nigerian Governors Forum for their non – charlatan attitudes and negligence towards the unfortunate plights and misfortunes of herdsmen across the nation.

“This worrisome, and the most negative turn of events was as a result of decades of neglect to the plights of the herdsmen.

“There has never been a Governor over the years who has provided enough budgetary allocation to the issue of livestock developments inspite of the huge amounts of money which was supposed to be channelled into Livestock Development but such budgetary allocation were diverted to other sectors and their luxuries”, it stated.

CFYG also stated that “As it were, and I may not be wrong that today you are reaping what you sowed.

“Negatively, that is why the Fulani herdsmen went up East, South and South western regions to survive which now has turn the herdsmen into near genocidal situations and were driven out in an inhumane and unconstitutional decisions.

“When we juxtaposed these problems with the current situation of things in Nigeria , there is an immediate need for solutions which we propose four things to be done.

According the Coalition massive looting and corruption must be stopped, all Nigerians from whereever they are, should be considered as brothers which deserve mutual respect.

Other solutions suggested include “The plights of Fulani herdsmen which should be properly studied in order for them to live in peace and harmony within any community they find themselves.

“The plights and dangerous situations of the Pastoralist should not be politicized, but rather it should be consider as the Constitutional responsibility of every governor and even the Presidency”, it added.
