Agnes Forte, a 33-year-old visually impaired mother, is reaching out to the public for help as her one-year-old daughter, whose name is being withheld, mysteriously disappeared from their residence in Akowonjo, Lagos, on November 28, 2023. Forte, sharing her concerns, expressed suspicion toward her 13-year-old stepdaughter, who also went missing on the same day.
In an interview with Saturday PUNCH, Forte revealed that on the day of their disappearance, she noticed not only the absence of her infant but also the disappearance of money and her daughter’s clothes. The stepdaughter reportedly informed a neighbor that she was heading to her grandmother’s place, leaving Forte anxious about her daughter’s safety.
Forte, having limited knowledge about her stepdaughter’s background, explained, “I don’t really know her (name withheld). She just started staying with me in January.” The stepdaughter’s history involves being brought from an orphanage to her grandmother’s place. The father located her in 2016 and took her to his mother’s home. The stepdaughter’s mother’s whereabouts are unknown, and her father lacks information about the mother’s family.
Forte appeals to Nigerians for assistance in locating her missing one-year-old daughter. The incident has left her distraught, and she hopes for the safe return of her child. She has urged her husband to try and contact the stepdaughter’s mother or family, but he claims to have no information about them. Forte pleads for support, expressing her profound desire to be reunited with her missing baby.
