**Breaking News: Federal Government Takes Decisive Action: Revokes 1,633 Mining Licences**

In a significant move, the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development, has revoked 1,633 mineral titles that were previously granted to non-compliant mining companies.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, during a press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday. The revocation of these mineral titles was attributed to the failure of the holders to fulfill the obligation of paying mandatory annual service fees, set at N1,500 per cadastral unit.

Minister Alake detailed the breakdown of the revoked titles, which included Exploration Licences (536), Quarry Licences (279), Small Scale Mining Licences (787), and Mining Leases (31). He emphasized that this action aligns with the authority vested in him by the NMMA 2007, Section 5 (a), and stated, “I have approved the revocation of the 1,633 titles.”

Further details on this development are expected to follow soon.
