BREAKING: Supreme Court Reinstates Anyanwu as PDP National Secretary

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has reinstated Senator Samuel Anyanwu as the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a unanimous judgment delivered on Friday, a five-member panel of the apex court ruled that matters concerning the leadership or membership of a political party are internal affairs and should not be subject to court interference.

The court also set aside the decision of the Court of Appeal, Enugu Division, which had on December 20, 2024, upheld Anyanwu’s removal as PDP National Secretary by a Federal High Court in Enugu.

According to the Supreme Court, the Federal High Court lacked jurisdiction to entertain the case filed by Aniagwu Emmanuel, thereby nullifying the previous ruling.
