BSN, CAN organises universal week of prayers in Kaduna

..Ask God to give Nigeria good leaders
..Unit Southern/Northern Christians

The Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) principal auxiliary and Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN) Central zone organized what it termed as universal week of prayers program.

The unique church program which involved members of all Christian denominations in the zone, engaged in rigorous spiritual prayer sessions including singing praises, sermons, chorus, dancing and worship.

The week long prayer activities held at Methodist, HEKAN, Catholic and 2nd Ecwa church respectively at kigo road new extension, katsina road and independence way is also prayed God to unit northern CAN with their southern counterpart.

Speaking to our correspondent, the organising committee Chairman of the universal week of prayers program Pastor Adeyemi A. Isaac said this year’s “program is hosted by BSN principal auxiliary and CAN Central zone.

He said the universal week of prayers program “is a unique program because the two are coming together as one body. 

“The program is happening all over the world under strict COVID-19 compliance. Is happening in US, UK, Germany etc. COVID-19 has nothing to do with us. 

“We pray against Insecurity, for good leader for Nigeria with fasting and prayers too. We’ve various church denomination coming together for the same purpose. 

“We’re hear as Christians not about denomination because before God no Catholic, no Baptist, Deeper Life but only God. 

“But for only those following the teachings of the Lord Almighty through Jesus Christ, who’s the only son of God who died on the cross of Calvary to redeemed  humanity with God worldwide”, he said.

He said they’re also prayed for enormous security challenges, corruption and other social vices, despite high religious presence in Nigeria, “because of bad leadership, which is nothing to write home about. 

“If not from the prayers of religious leaders in this country, it would have collapse completely. 

“Many of those at the helm of affairs in Nigeria don’t know God. They’re there on their own. They don’t care about any other person. If we have good leader, our country will be loved. That’s why we said Christian leaders should also go into politics themselves and almighty God will help them to fix their country. 

Today’s prayers we still ask God to give us good leader. Despite huge of number of people who died in developed nation only few died here because God is helping us. They’re only using it to make money here”, he lamented.

Also speaking, Rev. Dr Emmanuel. Z . who’s the former president HELAN, the United Church of Christ in Nation (UCCN), Universal week of prayers comes up every second week of January. A yearly church program which involved coming together of members of the church under the zone to sing praises of God and prayed for better new Year.

In her remarks most motherly in Israel, Prophetess Bakare of C.S movement under kakuri district, said they’re prayed for peace and their leaders for God to allowed them to worship Him because the “church is even going down because of Kidnapping, abduction, killings because of poor leadership, economy and lack of finances.

Col. Dr Adegboye (rtd), Wesley Methodist Cathedral Kaduna and Chairman BSN Kaduna principal auxiliary, also said that the program is an annual ritual for the purpose to pray for the peace of (Israel) “our nation too, so that “it’ll be well with it”, and prayed for bad things of 2020 not to spill over to 2021.

During the sessions, the congregation prayed for Israel, poor, Bishops, Revered, pastors and all churches and church leaders and the country for peace in this New.

“Christians take risk, lay down your life for one another. Jesus died for our sins. Jesus gave his life for us. Share Nigeria good things with one another”, they prayed.

They decried hypocrites, adding that Church leaders are into discrimination in school admissions, jobs opportunity among others”, and therefore prayed for unity and love, a principal things that moved country forward. 

“We’ve Christian in Government who have not done well. God can use them to turn around the country misfortune and prayed for it. Prays for understanding, against tribalism in the church, discrimination among faiths. 

“Prays that the Northern Christian be united with the Southern Christian counterpart. We’re one.”, the prayed.
