CASSON Determined To providing Better Guidance On Career And Professionalism – Kano Poly Rector

CASSON was founded in 1976 and became Duly Registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria (CAC Reg. No:9336) in 1996, It is also professionally recognized by the Ministries in charge of Education, Youth Development, Women Affairs, Social Welfare and Social Development in Nigeria and It has working relationships with UNESCO and UNICEF.

The association was established to provide excellent career guidance for the betterment of professionalism especially in tertiary institutions.

This was disclosed by the Rector, Kano state polytechnic Dr. Kabir Bello Dungurawa in a chat with newsmen, adding that the existence of guidance and counselling section has added value to Nigeria’s educational system that facilitates career development.

Dr. Kabir Bello Dungurawa expressed that ” Through guidance and counselling, nursing professionals in every sector can be achieved in our tertiary institutions like what is being witnessed and I am certain that CASSON would continue to be of great benefits to our educational system as the globe is gradually changing in all fields”. He said.

He commended president Muhammadu Buhari for signing the CASSON bill into law which enabled the association to be fully active across its chapters, and thanked the national executives of the association under the able leadership of Professor Elizabeth Omotunde Egbochuku is really committed towards the progress of the association in Nigeria. He reassured that in the near future, guidance and counselling would become more exemplary in the area of educational, vocational/career & persona-social guidance.

CASSON is an umbrella of professional practitioners who are educationally certified works in Public settings such as schools, hospitals, rehabilitation centres, religious institutions and Social Work Departments as well as private settings.

Furthermore, they are found in Ministries, the Police, Prisons, Immigration, Industries, Special Institutions, Rehabilitation Centres as well as developmental Projects. In conclusion, the Rector states that “the ultimate aim of counselling is to assist clients realize their potential, make informed choices thereby meeting their life dreams.
