Nollywood actress Regina Daniels’ brother, Sammy, has been remanded in prison until November 28 following a court case allegedly linked to billionaire politician Ned Nwoko.

In a viral post, Regina’s other brother, Sweezzy1, shared a video showing Sammy in poor condition while in police custody, pleading for public support and alleging that his brother’s life was in danger.

According to him, Sammy was denied bail, a development he described as unjust, urging Nigerians to demand fair treatment. Sweezzy1 also accused Nwoko of orchestrating the case — an allegation the businessman has denied.

Their mother, Rita Daniels, added to the family’s plea by posting a photo of Sammy in detention, showing visible bruises on his arms and body. The image quickly stirred public outrage online.

Fans have since flooded social media with messages of sympathy and calls for justice, questioning the alleged abuse of power surrounding the case.

Dangote: “I Didn’t Inherit Wealth, I Built Everything from Scratch”

Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has shed light on his personal journey to success, insisting that his business empire was built through his own efforts and not inherited wealth.

In a recent interview, Dangote acknowledged that he was born into a well-off family — with his great-grandfather described as one of West Africa’s richest men in the 1940s, and his father also successful in both business and politics. However, he stressed that his achievements were self-made.

“One thing I’m very proud of is that I did not inherit any money from my father. I built everything from scratch to where I am,” Dangote said. He added that whatever assets he inherited were donated to charity.

Recounting his humble beginnings, the industrialist explained that he first worked briefly with his uncle before moving to Lagos, where he started buying and selling cement. He chose the commodity, he said, because of Nigeria’s huge housing and infrastructure deficits and the country’s reliance on imported cement at the time.

“When we started cement in Nigeria, we realized the majority of it was actually imported. That is why we went into it,” Dangote noted, adding that his move into the sector laid the foundation for his now-massive conglomerate.

Dangote’s story underscores his narrative of determination, strategy, and resilience in building Africa’s largest industrial empire.

Nigerian singer and Marlian Records boss, Naira Marley, has urged the police to re-arrest everyone linked to the death of late artiste Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

In a recent interview, Marley said he returned to Nigeria to cooperate with investigations and clear his name, despite facing public allegations. He revealed that he spent two months in detention at Panti, Yaba, Lagos, even after presenting evidence of his innocence.

“I came back to Nigeria to support the police investigation and show I had nothing to do with Mohbad’s death. Yet, I was detained for two months with no reason. Even officers admitted I was innocent, saying my detention was for ‘protection’,” he said.

Marley stressed that all individuals connected to the case should face justice:
“If you ask me, I’ll tell the police to arrest everybody involved. Everybody should be re-arrested so the truth can come out.”

He also addressed Mohbad’s estate, saying Marlian Records has not touched the late singer’s earnings. According to him, the money remains intact and will be handed over to whoever the court or Mohbad’s family appoints to manage it.

Marley maintained that he remains committed to justice for Mohbad while standing firm on his innocence.

Auchi Protest: VeryDarkMan Blocks Dangote Trucks Over Accident Victim’s Unpaid Bills

Popular social media activist, Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), on Monday led a massive protest in Auchi, Edo State, barricading Dangote trucks from using the roads until the company addresses the plight of accident victims allegedly caused by its drivers.

The protest was sparked by the case of Ruth Otabor, sister of BBNaija winner Phyna, who recently had her leg amputated after being hit by a Dangote truck just days after completing her studies at Auchi Polytechnic.

Joined by students of Auchi Polytechnic, VDM demanded that the Dangote Group not only foot Ruth’s medical bills but also pay adequate compensation to her and other victims of similar tragedies.

Addressing the crowd in a video circulating online, VDM declared:
“The people of Auchi have no choice but to stop all Dangote drivers from using our roads until the company compensates victims, regulates its drivers, and takes full responsibility.”
