As the years go by, the competition in digital marketing is getting tighter. More and more businesses are realizing how beneficial digital marketing is. This would only mean more competition for your website. And, you cannot just let that pass you by!

You need to be competitive and enure you do the necessary things that will let you stay on top. If your website is built in WordPress, then you are one of the lucky people who can have it the easy way!

WordPress is a very SEO-friendly platform that can be beneficial especially to those that are still starting out and are still discovering what SEO is really like.

This article is geared toward guiding beginners and intermediate level marketers. We have gathered an extensive list of practices, ways, and methods that you can use and implement to dominate the search engine results page.

    1. The Perfect Keywords

No matter how much SEO and digital marketing changes, one thing will still remain. SEO will always be about the right keywords.

Keywords are a key pillar of search engines. People will always use keywords when they search for something they are looking for.

This is why before all the technical aspects of WordPress SEO, you have to make sure you already figured out which keywords you want to be visible for.

Remember, it is important to be as specific as possible with some of your keywords because when a searcher uses a specific search term, this means that they are ready to buy.

    2. The Perfect Keyword Placement

Now that you have figured out which keywords you want to use, it is now time to learn when and how to use them properly.

Overusing the keywords is never a good practice. You may think that the more you use your keywords, the better. But, SEO today is not about the quantity anymore, it is more about the relevance of your keywords.

So, ultimately, it is important that you figure out where to place your keywords in your content and in your entire site.

Generally, your content should make up at least 1-2% of your main content or at least two times. It would be better to put them near the beginning and the end part of the content.

Additionally, you want to make sure you are using your keywords in the title tags, meta descriptions, and header tags. These are things that can be easily found in WordPress.

    3. Mobile-Responsiveness

Depending on the theme that you choose to use in WordPress, creating a mobile version of your website can be easy or it can get very complicated.

But, you just have to be ready with it because Google and other search engines are changing their algorithms to prioritize ranking the mobile versions of websites.

This is primarily because of the increasing use of mobile devices to access the Internet. Google only wants to provide the best user experience to their users and in line with that, they will only display those websites that provide a better user experience by creating a website that displays perfectly on mobile devices.

So, while you are doing your on-page SEO tasks, it would be wise if you could start working on the mobile visibility of your website too.

    4. Structured Data

This may not be that applicable to those that are just starting out because there is not that much of data to be structured. But remember, your website will start growing and you will be publishing a lot more content in the future.

If you are in the industry where you need to publish news, recipes, or products, then you really need to be working on the structure of your data. Luckily, WordPress makes it super easy to do this with their built-in categories and tags.

When you publish a new content, you can set the appropriate categories and tags for the page right at the side of the “Add New” page.

This means that as you create your content, you do not have to go away from the Edit page to set your categories and tags. It will automatically update the sitemap.

Aside from SEO, having a structured way of organizing your data is also helpful to your audience. It provides an easier way to navigate on your website without having to click on a lot of links and buttons.

    5. Content

Lastly, the most important thing you always need to think about when it comes to WordPress SEO is the content. At its heart, WordPress is really a content management system. It is built to manage your content easily.

And, considering how SEO right now is about content, it is just right that you utilize WordPress for this function. Apart from WordPress’ ability to organize your content, you can also install additional plugins to help you create new and refreshing content to keep your audience engaged with your website.

Although things in digital marketing have drastically changed, SEO will still stay. So, continue to educate yourself and stay updated with the new trends in WordPress SEO so you do not get left behind.

  • 5 Tips on marrying the right person

5 Tips on marrying the right person

Marriage, they say, is not what one rush into. It concerns making a lifetime decision which bears a huge impact on one’s life. It is important you assess your partner so as to determine whether he/she is good or bad for you.

Here are tips to help you make sure you walk down the aisle with the right partner:

    1. Marry someone who is easy to open up to

Someone who is close to you and shares everything with you is really a very good sign. But if that someone is determined to keep secrets from you, then is not good.

If he/she is very secretive, then the person is bound to be very secretive in your married life too.

Secrets frustrate love, breeds mistrust between the partners and also inhibit closeness.

    2. Know the person’s view on sex

Someone’s views on sex matters a lot.

A person’s opinions on sex will indicate to you how they’ll handle sex in marriage. Someone with a loose view of sex has a high chance of being unfaithful in marriage.

Someone who uses the fact of being single to sleep around casually might find it hard to stay faithful even after the marriage vows.

    3. How he/she handles disappointments and tempers

Disappointments will be there in life and not everything will go as per your plan.

Take a close study of how the person responds at the time of disappointment. Is that person hot-tempered? Do they abuse you when they are angry? Do they say regrettable things or disown you?

If yes, then please take care, because this things can change into violence later on.

    4. Does he/she take finances seriously?

Life is full of ups and downs and so, with good times, people experience bad times as well. Try not to fall for someone with whom you can chill with, go for someone with whom you can build with.

    Choose the right life partner.

Money has the power that can destroy a relationship. So before marriage, try to know how that person handles money or the lack of it.

Money has the power to add up or dwindle your love. Can it also create feelings of despise in each other because of the abundance of wealth?

    5. Partner’s relationship with his/her ex

Try to know whether your future partner is caught up in his or her past or not.

Unresolved matters can haunt your future life, like why did the relationship with the ex end? What was the matter? Was it his/her fault or not?

So these are the things by which you can know whether to get married to the person or not. But even if your findings are bad, you may not necessarily leave. You can bring the issues to the attention of the person, saying “I don’t like the things you do”. Ask them to change and inspire the growth in that person.

Remember: some things are non-negotiable. You can only inspire a person to change but it totally depends upon the person if he/she is willing to change or not.

    By Joseph ETTA

Tax officers from the Cross River State Board of internal revenue who were on their official duty to Marian market were mobbed on last Thursday at the Marian market, along Marian road in Calabar.

The market situated along Marian Road, Calabar is one of the largest market in the heart of Calabar town. The market was engulfed with fire disaster which razed down 32 shops in A line area of the market.

The traders stated that their grouse is the Calabar Municipality Area Council, who collects levies and sell ticket daily, day in, day out throughout the year who totally neglect and abandoned them to their own fate.

According to Traders Association president, Etim Inyang said “We drove them out of the market to show our displeasure particularly over the non-insensitive and non-challant attitude of this Administration towards the plight of the people in this state.”

He observed that since fire gutted the market last year and razed down 32 shops, no government official or agencies has visited the scene of the incident or showed concern to the plight of the people ‘’I have never seen a Governor as insensitive to the plight of the people like Ben Ayade, he is never bothered by the plight of the people only to speak big grammar all over the place.’

The market Association, who had been selling in the market for the past 20 years said he remembered vividly well that when Donald Duke was in Government and the Watt market gutted fire, he personally visited them and the government supported them with financial assistance to rebuild the shops. This government is bad, they turned deaf ears to the sufferings of the people, all they know is pay tax, and the tax is too high, he added.

  • 5 signs you should let go of your partner

5 signs you should let go of your partner

Hey, it is very important you know when to leave when love is no longer served on the table. Remember, love is all about mutual effort and feelings, trying hard to hold on to a sour love affair  will only rob you of your happiness and dignity.

So, here are are 5 signs that tell it is about time you let go:

    1. You feel the love is gone:

    love is gone

It is very difficult to live in a situation when there is no goodness and love. Love is what holds relationships together. If you don’t love each other, there is no support, admiration, respect, dedication, and commitment. Then for what are you putting in an effort? What is your relationship for? The love in your relationship doesn’t generally disappear overnight; it’s erodes slowly over time. And once the love fades in the relationship, it is very hard to regain.

So if you want to save your relationship, save the goodness of love first!

    2. He/she doesn’t respect you:

    dont respect

Respect is one of the most important aspects of any relationship! Disrespect is the only thing that violates a relationship. Behaviours such as insults, lying, cheating, hiding phone are all also a signs of disrespect.

If your partner is unaware about their hurtful behaviour, then tell them how their behaviour is making you feel, and see what happens. If he or she makes an effort to understand your perspective and tries their best to change their behaviour, then they seriously care about you, but if they dismiss your words and go back to the same behaviour, then it time to leave.

    3. You are the one putting effort:

    putting effort

You alone cannot make things right. Relationships tend to work on a give-and-take basis even though true love is above such business-like arrangements. The give-and-take aspect should be fairly equal for both partners as it shows that both parties are willing to spend time and energy for the other.

When a relationship starts to deteriorate, it can feel like one person is doing all the work to maintain it. When that happens, take a big step back and see what happens.

If your partner copes up, then the possibility of re-aligning the loving energy still exists. However, if your partner gets angry or continues to drift further away, then you must think about breaking up.

    4. You have trust issues:

    trust issue

Trust is the foundation of every relationship. It is the base upon which a relationship is built, and it is mistrust that often destroys it. Nothing weakens a relationship more than deceit.

If you trust him/her and they continuously break your trust, then it’s not your fault, it’s theirs. If you are in such situation, think twice before continuing.

    5. Relationship is not a priority for him/her:

    your partners priority

Being busy with your work with not a bad thing but undermining your relationship for a long time because of it is simply not worth it.

If he/she is not willing to make some time for you, even through a quick phone call or text, then it is not a good trait of a positive relationship.
