5 Medicinal Benefits of Drinking Celery Juice

Here are the amazing benefits of adding celery juice to your daily diet:

    1. Heals you digestive system
Celery contains special nutrients in its fibers which are activated when the celery is turned into juice. These nutrients act as a natural laxative and relax the nerves that have been damaged by unhealthy lifestyle and eating unhealthy, processed foods.

Celery juice soothes and cools the digestive system and acts as an anti-inflammatory in the gastrointestinal tract. Celery juice works wonders for those with bowel issues and Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

Celery is also very high in natural sodium and that can really help you absorb the rest of the food you eat throughout the day.

Celery is very high in calcium and silicon which help to regenerate and strengthen damaged bones. It is also packed full of Vitamin K which plays an important role in bone health and helps fight against osteoporosis.

A lack of natural sodium in your diet causes your body to pull it from your bones, making them weak and brittle over time. However, celery is here to help humans strengthen and replenish their body’s skeletal system.

    3. Purifies your blood
Celery contains a particular compound called coumarins which promotes the activity of white blood cells and assists the vascular system. This helps the blood flow, reduces blood pressure and purifies the bloodstream.

Many diseases of the nervous and blood systems are due to the inorganic elements and salts taken in by the body in the form of dead processed products. The sodium in celery also maintains the fluidity of the blood.

It is also rich in Vitamin A, C, iron, and magnesium, an elite combination which nourishes and builds back red blood cells. In this case, celery works wonders for those dealing with high blood pressure.

    4. Detoxifies
Celery juice is extremely hydrating and alkaline, making it great for balancing out the pH in the body and neutralsiing acid. This protect healthy cells lowers the risk of a range of conditions including heart disease, retaining bone density, reducing inflammation and boosting the immune system.

Drinking celery juice by itself, compared to mixing it with other ingredients, simplifies digestion and elimination, helping the body to cleanse, detoxify and restore.

    5. Anti-Inflammatory
Two special compounds in celery, polyacetylene and luteolin, make celery an anti-inflammatory powerhouse.

Luteolin is a potent bioflavonoid that has been shown to stop the effects of certain enzymes which activate genes responsible for inflammatory response. Luteolin is also a strong antioxidant helping to fight free radical damage and reduce oxidative DNA damage related to inflammation.

Polyacetylene is also considered one of the best defenders against inflammation, working to lower levels of inflammatory tissues in the body.

There you have it, celery juice seems to be not just hype but actually help with fighting man ailments and restoring your body’s natural balance. From heart disease to IBS, brittle bones and MS, celery juice has been said to make a marked improvement with consistent use.

Will you try a chilled glass of celery juice?

  • Does taking a break in a relationship work?

Does taking a break in a relationship work?

Taking a break is a chance for people in a relationship to explore what not being together feels like, take time for personal growth, and look at their relationship from a distance.

Taking a break in relationship most at times don’t work out as intended. When you have get into a fight with your partner you make up and move on but when the fight extends to weeks and months, would you take a break?

According to Ann Rosen Spector, PhD, a clinical psychologist in Philadelphia, one of the best ways to repair a relationship is to put some distance between you and your partner by taking a break. “Separation can be very healing,” she says. “When a situation is complicated, having distance to get clarity is important.” And a break is the way to get it.

However before considering on taking a break, you should ask yourself the following questions:

    1. Are you proposing a break to avoid your partner’s or your own negative behavior?

    2. Are you proposing a break because you’re afraid of breaking up with them?

    3. Are you proposing break because you don’t know how to communicate with your partner?

    4. After the break what next?

There are three reasons why people go on a break:

    1. You want to see if your partner will miss you during your time apart.

    2. You want to see if you’re missing a connection that you can find other people.

    3. You need space in your relationship.

  • How to talk dirty without being absurd

How to talk dirty without being absurd

For many people, sex talk might not come naturally. However, your mouth is one of the best ways of giving pleasure in the bedroom… through communication of course.

Dirty talk with your man keeps him thinking about you. In fact, dirty talk has been scientifically proven to increase sexual pleasure and you can’t argue with science! A common misconception that makes sex talk so daunting is that it’s just screaming profanities at the top of your lungs, as porn insists. Talking dirty also builds sexual tension in a relationship.

However, there are different levels of dirty talk, you can even start off whispering something into your partner’s ear, it’s just as effective and sexy. One thing you should know is what you say doesn’t arouse them, it is how you actually say it.

With that been said lets move on to the main business

    1. Be natural:  There’s no exact script and phrasing that works for everyone. Just be yourself and say what comes naturally to you. You don’t want it to sound forced or fake.

    2. Be confident: Use an assertive voice when you’re talking to your partner, to show you’re confident. This will make him feel like you really mean what you’re saying. Expressing yourself is very sexy to your partner. However, if you’re feeling a bit shy, start by whispering things into your partner’s ear as it can be just as effective.

    3. Don’t fake it: The last thing you want to try to do is try to put on a big show and say a lot of things you don’t believe.

    4. Guessing games: Phrases like, ‘I’ve got a surprise for you tonight’, will make your partner’s imagination run wild with excitement and keep them wanting more. You don’t watch a film and skip right to the last two minutes. The best bit is the suspense and guessing what the ending will be. Use the power of anticipation to your advantage.

  • 5 Signs Your Man Isn’t Serious About You

5 Signs Your Man Isn’t Serious About You

Are you sure he is not just playing along, waiting to kick you to the curbs when he can no longer keep up the pretense and when it is no longer convenient to be with you?

If you aren’t sure, the five points below will help you know if indeed you have the same place in that guy’s life that he does in yours.

    1. He doesn’t reach out if you don’t

Communication is pretty key in a relationship and for the guy that fears losing you, he will be dedicated to constantly keeping in touch and being a part of your life on a day to day basis.

If your ‘boyfriend’ does not do this, and the only time you communicate is when you reach out, there could be a problem.

    2. He never gets jealous

How does it happen in a normal balanced relationship that a guy does not ever get jealous about you?

I really do not care how calm and collected the guy is, there definitely will be an exhibition of healthy jealousy when it comes to you.

If a guy does not ever get jealous about you, even when he absolutely has reasons to ask questions and all that, he could be letting you know that you are free to do what you want, because as far as he is concerned, what you have is just temporary anyway.

    3. No labels

When a guy says he’s not into labels, it means one clear thing – you are simply not seen as his babe. At least, not yet. Forget the grand explanation he gives or how he tries to wriggle out of it with some silly explanations.

You are simply not as special to him as he might be to you. Maybe sometime in the future, but not yet.

    4. He doesn’t show you off

These days, social media can be used as a gauge for affection between people. With so many platforms available for sharing, it is unlikely [although possible] that someone would really be in love with you and not share it on one of those platforms.

Of course, that is quite inconclusive so there might be need to pay a little more observation here.

So, if for example, there have been several office events, many occasions that required him to go with a companion but he does ever take you, it may be because he wants to appear single and very willing to mingle at those events, or to be able to go with his real partner.

    5. Not much seems to bond you but sex

Again we get to the issue of the opportunistic knacks. The one he sees as his ‘sare wa gba’ [This is an emerging Yoruba slang which loosely translates to ‘booty calls.’]

As a matter of fact, this might just be the reason why he is even making the little attempts to stay in touch and keep you around.

Hence, whenever he manages to create little time, [or sometimes after you have pestered him for a date or hangout] he wants not much else asides touching and torching that body as much as he can.

Ex-INEC chairman Maurice Iwu granted N1bn bail

    By Jennifer Y Omiloli

A Federal High Court sitting in the Ikoyi zone of Lagos, on Friday, August 9, conceded a N1 billion bail to Professor Maurice Iwu, a previous chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Subtleties of the court procedures were as yet concluded at the time of this report, however Channels Television says this was the condition given to Iwu for his bail.

Iwu had been ordered remanded in the care of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) by the court.

It was likewise announced that the court had fixed the date for the hearing of the application for bail documented Iwu.

Professor Iwu was on Thursday, August 8, summoned by the EFCC for supposedly laundering N1.2 billion.

It was assembled that in the wake of arguing not blameworthy to a four-check charge before Justice Chuka Obiozor, the previous INEC chairman was remanded in EFCC custody.

EFCC’s acting representative, Tony Orilade, first uncovered the plan to summon the previous INEC chairman in a statement in Abuja.

INEC begins deregistration of crushed political parties

***About five months after the general elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is set up to deregister some political parties

***INEC is depending on segment 225 of the 1999 constitution of the nation in its arranged activity

***The election was significantly between the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the restriction Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

    By Jennifer Y Omiloli

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared its arrangements to initiate deregistration of some political parties in Nigeria around five months after the 2019 general elections.

As indicated by INEC, the choice is on the grounds that huge numbers of the 93 political parties did not get the measure of votes legally necessary during the election.

Out of the total number of political parties in the nation, 73 handled presidential competitors in the general election, however clearly the activity was significantly between two political parties – the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

TV Continental reports that apart from APC and the PDP, which collected a great deal of votes, about 85% of the other political parties were left to share only 30,000 out of the 29 million votes cast.

The report cited INEC as saying it is depending on segment 225 of the 1999 constitution as amended, which enables it to deregister a gathering “that neglects to win 25% of the votes cast in one condition of the organization in a presidential election or one local government in a state governorship election or neglects to win one ward in the chairmanship election or a seat in the state House of Assembly or councilor election.”

It is found out that the move by INEC is as of now causing disarray and shifted suppositions among lawmakers in the nation.

Review that INEC, on Wednesday, June 19, said there could be more than 200 enlisted parties before the 2023 general elections.

The INEC’s magistrate for data, Festus Okoye, while talking at the Electoral Reform Roundtable sorted out by the Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room and the Kofi Annan Foundation stated that more than 200 political parties could be on the ballot papers in 2023.

  • 7 Common Relationship Problems and Ways to Solve Them

7 Common Relationship Problems and Ways to Solve Them

It’s the rare couple that doesn’t run into a few bumps in the road. If you recognize ahead of time, though, what those relationship problems might be, you’ll have a much better chance of getting past them.

Even though every relationship has its ups and downs, successful couples have learned how to manage the bumps and keep their love life going, says marriage and family therapist Mitch Temple, author of The Marriage Turnaround. They hang in there, tackle problems, and learn how to work through the complex issues of everyday life. Many do this by reading self-help books and articles, attending seminars, going to counseling, observing other successful couples, or simply using trial and error.

    Relationship Problem: Communication
All relationship problems stem from poor communication, according to Elaine Fantle Shimberg, author of Blending Families. “You can’t communicate while you’re checking your BlackBerry, watching TV, or flipping through the sports section,” she says.

    Problem-solving strategies:

    1. Make an actual appointment with each other, Shimberg says. If you live together, put the cell phones on vibrate, put the kids to bed, and let voicemail pick up your calls.

    2. If you can’t “communicate” without raising your voices, go to a public spot like the library, park, or restaurant where you’d be embarrassed if anyone saw you screaming.

    3. Set up some rules. Try not to interrupt until your partner is through speaking, or ban phrases such as “You always …” or “You never ….”

    4. Use body language to show you’re listening. Don’t doodle, look at your watch, or pick at your nails. Nod so the other person knows you’re getting the message, and rephrase if you need to. For instance, say, “What I hear you saying is that you feel as though you have more chores at home, even though we’re both working.” If you’re right, the other can confirm. If what the other person really meant was, “Hey, you’re a slob and you create more work for me by having to pick up after you,” he or she can say so, but in a nicer way.

    Relationship Problem: Sex
Even partners who love each other can be a mismatch, sexually. Mary Jo Fay, author of Please Dear, Not Tonight, says a lack of sexual self-awareness and education worsens these problems. But having sex is one of the last things you should give up, Fay says. “Sex,” she says, “brings us closer together, releases hormones that help our bodies both physically and mentally, and keeps the chemistry of a healthy couple healthy.”

    Problem-solving strategies:

    1. Plan, plan, plan. Fay suggests making an appointment, but not necessarily at night when everyone is tired. Maybe during the baby’s Saturday afternoon nap or a “before-work quickie.” Ask friends or family to take the kids every other Friday night for a sleepover. “When sex is on the calendar, it increases your anticipation,” Fay says. Changing things up a bit can make sex more fun, too, she says. Why not have sex in the kitchen? Or by the fire? Or standing up in the hallway?

    2. Learn what truly turns you and your partner on by each of you coming up with a personal “Sexy List,” suggests California psychotherapist Allison Cohen. Swap the lists and use them to create more scenarios that turn you both on.

    3. If your sexual relationship problems can’t be resolved on your own, Fay recommends consulting a qualified sex therapist to help you both address and resolve your issues.

    Relationship Problem: Money
Money problems can start even before the wedding vows are exchanged. They can stem, for example, from the expenses of courtship or from the high cost of a wedding. The National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) recommends that couples who have money woes take a deep breath and have a serious conversation about finances.

    Problem-solving strategies:

    1. Be honest about your current financial situation. If things have gone south, continuing the same lifestyle is unrealistic.

    2. Don’t approach the subject in the heat of battle. Instead, set aside a time that is convenient and non-threatening for both of you.

    3. Acknowledge that one partner may be a saver and one a spender, understand there are benefits to both, and agree to learn from each other’s tendencies.

    4. Don’t hide income or debt. Bring financial documents, including a recent credit report, pay stubs, bank statements, insurance policies, debts, and investments to the table.

    5. Don’t blame.

    6. Construct a joint budget that includes savings.

    7. Decide which person will be responsible for paying the monthly bills.

    8. Allow each person to have independence by setting aside money to be spent at his or her discretion.

    9. Decide upon short-term and long-term goals. It’s OK to have individual goals, but you should have family goals, too.

    10. Talk about caring for your parents as they age and how to appropriately plan for their financial needs if needed.

Relationship Problem: Struggles Over Home Chores
Most partners work outside the home and often at more than one job. So it’s important to fairly divide the labor at home, says Paulette Kouffman-Sherman, author of Dating From the Inside Out.

    Problem-solving strategies:

    1. Be organized and clear about your respective jobs in the home, Kouffman-Sherman says. “Write all the jobs down and agree on who does what.” Be fair so no resentment builds.

    2. Be open to other solutions, she says. If you both hate housework, maybe you can spring for a cleaning service.

    3. If one of you likes housework, the other partner can do the laundry and the yard. You can be creative and take preferences into account — as long as it feels fair to both of you.

Relationship Problem: Not Making Your Relationship a Priority
If you want to keep your love life going, making your relationship a focal point should not end when you say “I do.” “Relationships lose their luster. So make yours a priority,” says Karen Sherman, author of Marriage Magic! Find It, Keep It, and Make It Last.

    Problem-solving strategies:

    1. Do the things you used to do when you were first dating: Show appreciation, compliment each other, contact each other through the day, and show interest in each other.

    2. Plan date nights. Schedule time together on the calendar just as you would any other important event in your life.

    3. Respect one another. Say “thank you,” and “I appreciate…” It lets your partner know that they matter.

    Relationship Problem: Conflict
Occasional conflict is a part of life, according to New York-based psychologist Susan Silverman. But if you and your partner feel like you’re starring in your own nightmare version of the movie Groundhog Day — i.e. the same lousy situations keep repeating day after day — it’s time to break free of this toxic routine. When you make the effort, you can lessen the anger and take a calm look at underlying issues.

    Problem-solving strategies:

You and your partner can learn to argue in a more civil, helpful manner, Silverman says. Make these strategies part of who you are in this relationship.

    1. Realize you are not a victim. It is your choice whether you react and how you react.

    2. Be honest with yourself. When you’re in the midst of an argument, are your comments geared toward resolving the conflict, or are you looking for payback? If your comments are blaming and hurtful, it’s best to take a deep breath and change your strategy.

    3. Change it up. If you continue to respond in the way that’s brought you pain and unhappiness in the past, you can’t expect a different result this time. Just one little shift can make a big difference. If you usually jump right in to defend yourself before your partner is finished speaking, hold off for a few moments. You’ll be surprised at how such a small shift in tempo can change the whole tone of an argument.

    4. Give a little; get a lot. Apologize when you’re wrong. Sure it’s tough, but just try it and watch something wonderful happen.
“You can’t control anyone else’s behavior,” Silverman says. “The only one in your charge is you.”

    Relationship Problem: Trust
Trust is a key part of a relationship. Do you see certain things that cause you not to trust your partner? Or do you have unresolved issues that prevent you from trusting others?

    Problem-solving strategies:

You and your partner can develop trust in each other by following these tips, Fay says.

    1. Be consistent.
    2. Be on time.
    3. Do what you say you will do.
    4. Don’t lie — not even little white lies to your partner or to others.
    5. Be fair, even in an argument.
    6. Be sensitive to the other’s feelings. You can still disagree, but don’t discount how your partner is feeling.
    7. Call when you say you will.
    8. Call to say you’ll be home late.
    9. Carry your fair share of the workload.
    10. Don’t overreact when things go wrong.
    11. Never say things you can’t take back.
    12. Don’t dig up old wounds.
    13. Respect your partner’s boundaries.
    14. Don’t be jealous.
    15. Be a good listener.

Even though there are always going to be problems in a relationship, Sherman says you both can do things to minimize marriage problems, if not avoid them altogether.

First, be realistic. Thinking your mate will meet all your needs — and will be able to figure them out without your asking — is a Hollywood fantasy. “Ask for what you need directly,” she says.

Next, use humor — learn to let things go and enjoy one another more.

Finally, be willing to work on your relationship and to truly look at what needs to be done. Don’t think that things would be better with someone else. Unless you address problems, the same lack of skills that get in the way now will still be there and still cause problems no matter what relationship you’re in.
