Senator Abdulaziz Nyako roused over ADC members’ decampment to People Democratic Party in Adamawa state.

    By Musa Isa Ahmed
Recently on social media Abdulazeez Nyako was at the top over the issue of decampees from ADC to the People’s Democratic Party. What is really baffling is the fact that what is a non- issue drew his ire as he uttered words saying the ADC will give a response but fell short of saying if it is true that some members of the party have defected or  not. If there are decampees, it will be nothing novel.
However,  in politics there should be no cause for annoyance. In politics some people come in and others go away. By not saying that some members of ADC have decamped, one can only guess what the retired naval commander has in mind.
Another interesting aspect is that the commander faulted the PDP for receiving decampees at a time when people in Tingno, lafiya-larmurde are mourning. It is of interest that such a question should arise given the prevailing condition in the country in the last ten years. While all Nigerians mourn the callous killing in the country, the commander took exception only of the event in Tingno (larmurde) and Guyuk local government council areas. Before the last general elections in which he contested several APC (Action People’s Congress) lost many members to ADC and he made no effort to delay their welcome into the party.
As regrettable as the cases is in the affected areas are concerned, the government has reached out to calm the situation and give succor to the affected people. The government of Adamawa State is a very responsive and responsible one that has the interest of the people at heart and has consciously attended to their needs. Yes, it is accepted that there is much on the government’s plate. Not only much, but too much that is why the government has left no stone unturned to get to the roots of the problem bedeviling the state. COVID-19 has stalled work on many people oriented projects as well as businesses which have adversely affected the economy of the, but still trudges forward while others have halted.
The current government is doing all possible to see that the dividends of democracy reaches the people and does not give attention to politicking while trying to address people oriented programs,it is that the party apparatus has the priority of address party affairs. As aptly said, this government has much on its plate, but that will not deny party apparatus to accept new comers that have come to appreciate what government is doing in all the nooks and crannies of the state. It is also a matter of good manners for a house-hold to welcome all corners. As things stand, the PDP is open to all, while the government of Adamawa State belongs to all citizens of the state.
At the moment, the government of Adamawa is not focused on cheap popu lism or asking people to come into the ruling party (PDP) by hook or by crook, rather it believes that the good things that it is doing will attract them to it as recent events portend. The government belongs to all and the party has a open door policy for all. Blessed is he that does not take offence in the PDP’s effort to welcome one and all into its camp.
