The Chief Press Secretary to the Taraba State Governor, Alhaji Hassan Mijinyawa has been abducted by unknown gunmen early morning of Wednesday, while on his way to Gembu along Bali -Gashaka axis of the road.
Taraba state Deputy Governor, Alhaji Haruna Manu confirmed this to newsmen in Jalingo.
The Deputy, who said the abductors are yet to contact anybody, urged the public to pray for safe release of Mijinyawa.
The wife to the abducted CPS, Hajiya Sekina Mijinyawa, who also confirmed the incident to newsmen, said her husband left home for Gembu in Sardauna Local Government Council at about 7am this morning only for him to be kidnapped on the way.
Our correspondent gathered that Mijinyawa who was on his way to Mambilla Plateau to join his principal, Gov Darius Ishaku, who is on Campaign tour of the area.
She appealed to the kidnappers to have mercy husband by releasing him unhurt.
Alhaji Yusuf Garba, one of the victims who narrowly escaped the scene said apart from the CPS and the government official that were abducted, a foreign expertriate whom he said was on his way to one of the Internally Displaced Persons camp was also kidnapped.
Garba, who narrated how the kidnappers took over the highway for several hours said the CPS and the other Victims after been dispossessed of their belonging were led away into the forest by their abductors.
Mr David Akinremi, the state commissioner of Police also confirmed the incident but but said police have been deployed to the area to commence search for the victims.
