As the world commemorates International Children’s Day on the 20th of November, the Kano State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Jibril Ismail Falgore, has facilitated all the children in Kano State.

In a press statement signed and issued to newsmen by spokesperson Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, Falgore, represented by Deputy Clerk of the House Alh Nasiru Magaji, emphasized that society needs to invest in children because they are capable of achieving great success in the future if empowered.

“Nigerian children possess potential that, if properly harnessed, will create a better society. That’s why we’re actively working as a legislative arm to ensure quality legislation aimed at enhancing the welfare of children is on the verge of passage, while others have already been enacted,” he stated.

On the occasion of World Children’s Day, Falgore further expressed the Assembly’s commitment to engaging children still in school through a series of seminars and symposiums during plenary sessions, with the aim of deepening their understanding of leadership and legislative responsibilities.

In his remarks, the Coordinator of the children’s team under the supervision of UNICEF as well as Communication Specialist Mr. Samuel Kaalu highlighted the vital role played by the Kano Assembly in demonstrating its commitment to working with UNICEF in shaping the future of our children.

The children showcased how legislative proceedings are carried out by the members of the Honourable Chamber, emphasizing the need for authorities to critically address issues in children’s education as a foundation for future aspirations.

“On this occasion, I celebrate all children and wish them greater achievements in life”, Falgore added.
