The Osun State Commissioner for Water Resources and Energy, Dr Amidu Tadese Raheem has applauded Governor the governor of the state, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola for his kindness to approve the fund to repair the damaged water equipment across all the water works in the state.Dr Raheem gave the commendation during a working visit to the project sites and courtesy call at the palace of Aragbiji of Iragbiji, HRM Oba Rasheed Ayo Olabomi, Aragbiji of Iragbiji and the Royal Majesty, Oba Rauf Olaniyan Ajiboye Olaigbo(viii) Elende of Eko-Ende. .
The Commissioner, described Governor Oyetola as God sent who is ready to move the state to greater height and change the State positively, he explained to the monarchs that Governor Oyetola is determined to provide potable water to the nook and crannies of the state.
He stressed that the people of the State should see the Government properties as their own and provide adequate security for them.
He hinted that State Government is spending huge amount of money on water production before water gets to the consumer, and urged the consumers to pay the highly subsidised water bill promptly to reciprocate the huge amount of money Spent by the State Government.
In his own remarks, Oba Aragbiji of Iragbiji, HRM Oba Rasheed Olabomi appreciated Mr Governor for approving the fund for the repair of the water equipment in the State.
The Royal Father then appealed to Mr Governor to give the people of Iragbiji a new water scheme through provision of water treatment plant, Reservoirs and Distribution system to complement the newly completed Iragbiji Dam.
The Royal father and the people of the ancient town pledged to pay their water bills as at when due.
In his response, the, Elende of Eko – Ende , Oba Rauf Olaniyan Ajiboye described Governor Oyetola as a man of his words and believed that the repair would be carried out as he had promised. He thanked Mr Governor for the road constriction going on in his community.
Other Areas visited by the Hon. Commissioner were the Water Reservoirs Station at Oke- Baale Osogbo and water Reservoir and Booster station at Gbongan.
On the entourage were the General Manager, Osun Water Corporation Engineer Ademola Fatola, Engr.(Mrs.) Dupeola Jokotola Deputy Geneal Manager of Operations, Production and public Relations officer of the Corporation Mr. Taiwo Olayinka, and others members of the Cooperation.
