There is tension in Ogbeke Nike village of Enugu State following allegations that one Mr. Gabriel Ugwu was using his family members for ritual.
It was gathered that trouble started after the man’s wife, Mrs. Ugwu Nneka died mysteriously without any form of ailment.
A community source hinted that their suspicion was raised when Mr. Ugwu did not demonstrate any serious feeling over the wife’s death.
“He could not even stay the mandatory six months to mourn his wife. It was not long and he returned to his normal life,” the source said.
He further revealed that five years after the wife died, Ugwu also lost his two children in quick succession in the same mysteriously circumstance.
“At that point we could not take it again, we had to report the matter to our traditional ruler, His Royal Highness, Igwe Dennis Ekete, Ogbennegu 1 of Ogbeke Nike.
“Even as we speak, Ugwu’s only surviving son, Chinecherem Henry Ugwu had to run away.
We don’t know his whereabouts till date. All we knew was that he ran to his mother’s place but we have not seen him since then,” the Community source further stated.
Meanwhile, when our Correspondent reached out to the monarch, His Highness, Igwe Ekete, he confirmed that Ugwu’s case was reported to the police.
“We have since excommunicated him, our investigation showed that he is behind the deaths of his family members,” the community leader said.
