Council Meeting: Wike Slams Blackmailers, Says, I Remain Focused to Achieve Results

By Joyce Remi-Babayeju

The FCT Minister, Barr. Nysome Wike, on Tuesday, slammed blackmailers and critics who propagandized his absence at the Villa Council meeting, as he said that he was ably represented by the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud.

Wike who explained that Mr. President permitted his absence from the Council meeting because of other engagements, emphasized that he remains focused on achieving results.

“Sometimes last week, Thursday, we had a flag-off, and I told the Minister of State, FCT, to represent me at the Council of State meeting. I had already told Mr. President that I would not be available because of other engagements we have already put in place.”

” So, the Honourable Minister of State represented the FCT in that meeting.”

Wike made this clarification at the commissioning and flag-off ceremony of the Access Roads in Sector Centre B, by Dakibiyu District.

The minister cautioned people usually carrying unnecessary propaganda and blackmail about other people to be careful not to spread false information.

” They said I did not attend because I was not happy that my nominee was not there. I work for the president. Mr. President’s judgment, as far as I’m concerned, in this country has always been how to put this country in the right perspective.”

“In spite of those things, be focused, and you will achieve your results. When you start delivering, the achievement will silence all critics”, he added.

However, Wike has promised to shock those criticizing the FCT administration for focusing only on roads, as he disclosed that the next focus is on schools.

” They say we are concentrating on roads. I say, “Melembe! Melembe! Take it easy”. Very soon, they will see we will be focusing on the schools.”

So critics have nothing again to say. When they wake up in the morning, and they turn on their national television, they will see FCT. And that is what Dividends of Democracy is all about, he stated.
