Honorable Justice I.E Ekwo of Federal High Court, Abuja has on Friday, in favour of the Interim Management Committee of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, banned the Kolade Alabi led faction amongst sixteen Federal Government agencies, organisations from partnering, implementing the National Anti-Multiple Taxation Scheme and the National Transit Insurance Scheme.
The suit which was filed before the court on Wednesday, 9th day of March, 2022 by the incorporated trustees of ALGON and Mr. Mohammed Abubakar Ibukun the Secretary General of ALGON, challenged the validity of the project, seeking the court to restrain further collaboration and implementation.
In a statement to newsmen signed by its Publicity Secretary, Hon. Ashonibaire Jide, the IMC reiterated that Alabi and co are impersonators and fraudulent persons posing as leadership of the association, hence should not be allowed to extort people in the name of NAMTAXS, NATIS.
Ruling in favour of the applicants, Justice Ekwo ordered that the 1st to 17th respondents be restrained from collaborating with Alabi led faction on the above mentioned project and also an order of certioraral to quash all actions and whatever done by them relating to the project respectively.
The IMC also noted that an order of Mandamus was issued to compel the Inspector General of Police who happens to be the 7th respondent to stop Alabi and Hajiya Binta from implementing NAMTAXS, NATIS.
