A federal high court on Monday expelled the bail application for detained previous Abia State governor, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.
The court on Thursday, December 5 sentenced Kalu to 12 years detainment subsequent to being seen as guilty on all the 39 count charges brought as against him.
He was indicted for N7.65billion fraud propagated when he was Abia State governor somewhere in the range of 1999 and 2007.
Kalu was sentenced alongside his firm, Slok Nigeria Limited and his previous Abia State director of finance, Ude Udeogu.
Be that as it may, two weeks after his sentencing, Kalu looked for post-conviction abandon therapeutic grounds.
The former governor asserted that he had wellbeing challenges that couldn’t be overseen at the medicinal offices in the Custodial Center, Ikoyi, Lagos and implored the court to allow him bail.
But his prosecutor, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) opposed his bail application, asking the court to dismiss it.
