COVID-19: No Test Required For Returning Students – FG

The Federal Ministry of Education has disclosed that returning students will not be required to test for COVID-19, before getting admitted into their schools.

A statement by the Director Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Education, Ben. Bem Goong, says that only temperature checks should be carried out on students and any other person crossing any school gate.

He asked school authorities to refrain from asking students or parents to undergo the COVID-19 test before they are accepted into their schools.

Schools in some states including the Federal Capital Territory on Monday reopened for the 2020/2021 academic session.

Ahead of the reopening, the schools were decontaminated while students were subjected to COVID-19 protocols, including wearing face-masks.

The students were given an extended stay at home following reports of the second wave of the pandemic.
