Commenting on the initiative, the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Mr. Nkem Nwaeke, described the planned session as an innovative and unprecedented move aimed at strengthening legislative collaboration and governance in Delta State.

“The Speaker’s visionary leadership is evident in initiating this special session with former members of the House. This gesture underscores his commitment to fostering a collaborative and inclusive legislative environment,” Nwaeke said.

He emphasized that the gathering will leverage the experience and expertise of former lawmakers to provide insights that will shape the future of the state legislature and governance.

“This initiative will strengthen the Assembly, making it better equipped to address the state’s development challenges while promoting peace, unity, and good governance,” the CPS added.

Nwaeke further noted that Rt. Hon. Guwor has consistently demonstrated a commitment to bridging the gap between past and present legislators to ensure continuity in governance and effective policymaking.
