Staff of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) were on Thursday in Lokoja charged to uphold the tenets of the profession by being objective, balanced and fair in their reportage.
The Director General, of the Corporation ( FRCN), Dr. Mansur Liman gave the charge during the 10th anniversary celebration and foundation laying of the ultra-modern studios and transmitter hall of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Prime 101.5 F.M on Mount Patti, Lokoja Kogi state capital.
The Director who noted that Nigeria is passing through challenging times, stressed that it behooves on media practitioners to play their role as the fourth estate of the realm in ensuring that the forthcoming General elections are conducted in a free and transparent atmosphere.
He stressed the commitment of the Radio Nigeria to this lofty project as the corporation mark this milestone, and encouraged staff to continue to uphold the tenets of professionalism in all they do.
“We must continue to adhere to the proud traditions of FRCN of upholding the people and uniting the nation through objective, balanced, fair and excellent news and programming” he said.
In his address the Deputy Governor of the state Edward Onoja said the focus and priority of Kogi state government is to secure life and property of the citizens, assuring that the government would continue to support Prime FM to realize their objective of informing and sensitizing the general public especially now that 2023 election is at hand.
“We will support Prime FM until the studio at mount patti is completed and operational” he promised.
Earlier, the general manager of the station, Alhaji Momohjimoh Adeiza commended the state government for their assistance and called for the sustenance to enable the station have a good ultral-modern studio and transmitter halls on Mount Patti to discharge their duties efficiently.
He commended the management team of FRCN headed by the director general, Dr. Mansur Liman for making the programme a reality.
