Dr. Akpoveta calls for collaboration in achieving inclusive health in Delta

The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Delta State Contributory Health Commission, Dr. Isaac Akpoveta has called for more collaboration among stakeholders and partners in the healthcare sector, as the state continues it’s drive to achieving Inclusive Health for residents.

Dr. Akpoveta made the call while playing host to members of the Delta State Health Partners Forum who paid an Advocacy visit at the Commission’s headquarters in Asaba.

The DG commended the forum which is a coalition of various health _focused organizations and stakeholders within Delta State, for their investment in the health of Deltans

Akpoveta, noted that the Delta State Government led by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has remained clear on achieving health for all Deltans.

He told them that the state government has approved the testing of hepatitis infection for pregnant women in the state, adding that the Commission would soon clear all backlog of payments as soon as funds were made available

While urging the forum to key into the various initiatives of the Commission, Dr. Akpoveta reiterated the readiness of the Commission in partnering individuals and groups that would support in providing a more robust and effective healthcare

The state Coordinator World Health Organization, Dr. David Kajovo, the state program Manager, Excellence Community Education Welfare Scheme ECEWS, Mr. Henry Udenenwu, representative of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, NCDC, Dumebi Nkenchor- Achuzia and Mrs Momah Mercy of the Society for Family Health, said the visit was to intimate the DG of the activities of the Forum, and to explore potential areas of collaboration.

They commended Dr. Akpoveta for his passion in driving the health insurance scheme, adding that the forum was dedicated to improving health outcomes through strategic partnership, advocacy and community engagement.
