Dualization of Apo, Wasa Junction Is Tinubu’s Fulfilled Promise — Wike

By Joyce Remi-Babayeju

The FCT Minister Barr. Nysome Wike has said that the dualization of the Apo, Wasa junction is part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope promises to the residents of the territory.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony of the Apo-Wasa junction at Apo District, Wike said, “So for us, every promise made by this administration, under the leadership of His Excellency, Mr. President, be assured that we shall fulfill the promises we have made to the people of FCT.”

The minister stated that the dualization of the Apo junction down to Wassa junction is coming to reality with the approval and support of President Tinubu to decongest this very heavy traffic area.
“We are going to dualize this particular road. That promise was made, and today, to the glory of God, we are fulfilling that promise.”

“You will agree with me that this road is very, very, very important. In fact, before the Apo to Wassa Junction was done, you could hardly even imagine when you were coming into the city, how many hours it would take you. It was very horrible, but I thank God, we are trying to do all we can to give the people of FCT the happiness that they desire”, he said.

Moreover, he disclosed that the administration has received the cost for relocation of Apo traders to their new site and the cost of providing infrastructure in the new site.

“Let me announce to you today, by the grace of God, we have received the cost of providing infrastructure from the Acting Executive Secretary of FCDA to provide infrastructure in the new site that they will be relocated to.”

The FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud while moving a vote of thanks, described the project as a bold step toward easing traffic flow, stimulating economic activities, and enhancing mobility for residents across the Federal Capital Territory.

She said the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu constantly reminds Nigerians that progress is built not only in policy but in the visible transformation of lives and communities.
