Enrique Reopens Osimhen Talks as PSG Plan Major Summer Move

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly revisiting the possibility of signing Victor Osimhen, with manager Luis Enrique softening his earlier stance on the Nigerian striker as the club plans for the summer transfer window.

For much of the season, Enrique was believed to be reluctant to pursue Osimhen, largely due to concerns about his temperament and dressing-room fit. Those reservations now appear to be fading.

According to transfer analyst Ekrem Konur, a dip in form from Gonçalo Ramos and a broader reassessment of PSG’s attacking options have prompted renewed interest in the former Napoli forward.

“PSG is now seriously considering recruitment as early as next summer, which shows that Luis Enrique no longer rules out this type of profile,” Konur told Goal.

The shift has reignited internal discussions at PSG about reshaping their frontline. Konur explained that the change in outlook is linked to the limitations identified in the current attacking setup, adding that Osimhen has once again become a realistic target—particularly if PSG’s current number nine departs.

Osimhen’s present club, Galatasaray, have maintained that they are unwilling to sell him during the winter transfer window and want him to complete the season in Turkey. However, insiders believe a substantial offer or a direct request from the striker himself could force a rethink.

Elsewhere, both Barcelona and Real Madrid are closely monitoring the situation. Barcelona reportedly view Osimhen as a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski, while Real Madrid are assessing their options in case of a future reshuffle involving Vinícius Júnior.

Reports from Spain suggest Madrid see Osimhen as an ideal central striker who could bring balance to their attack and allow Kylian Mbappé to operate more freely from the left. Spanish outlet Fichajes claims the club believes Osimhen’s blend of pace, strength, and finishing would make him an immediate threat.

PSG, however, appear to hold a financial edge over their rivals. The French champions are said to be capable of offering a transfer fee and salary package that Barcelona may struggle to match.

“The clubs involved do not have the same financial power,” Konur noted. “PSG have significantly greater resources than Barcelona and can submit an offer Galatasaray would find hard to refuse. They can also offer Osimhen a much higher salary, which puts them in a strong position. Luis Enrique’s new stance only strengthens that advantage and raises the strategic importance of the deal.”
