Ewa’s Thoughts in Words

WHEN. . . ???

Today my thoughts are overflowing with some classical level of hoplessness. A feeling that stems from the state of things in our fatherland.

For the first time in my entire life, I feel really faithless as everything appears so blurred, with no assurance of any resolution perceived.
The sense of loss of direction occupies me like the overwhelming feeling of dejection and abandonment.

Torrents of rhetorics engaging in sequence like an unending litany of woes. My mind hovers like a hawk desperate for a prey. Waves upon waves of helpless thinking making way for worries so drowning. My breath seems to be at the verge of ceasing as my heart beats randomly in an unrhythmic manner never before experienced.
One question keeps echoing in my head. . .

WHEN???
When shall we again find our path to that oneness that brought us greatness?
When shall we again find our path to that love for one another as we used to and be our brother’s keeper like we used to?
When shall we again work as an entity for the common goal and the well being of our great nation and for all and sundry?
When are we going to stop the incessant killings of our brothers and sisters in the name of political, religious, ethnic and economic sentiments?

When shall the issues of insecurities that have plagued our dear nation end?
When shall we again go to bed without the fear of being abducted before day break?
When shall we again go to our farms without being terrorised by herdsmen or butchered by same?

When shall we again enjoy our potholes- design roads without fear of been kidnapped?
When are we going to find a solution to the rising level of unemployment of our teeming bright and brilliant minds popularly referred to as the leaders of our tomorrow?

When are we going to realise the danger of the level of poverty we have overtime allowed into our territorial habitat due to bad policies and impractical leadership, which has continued to erode the peace and growth of our dear nation.
The persistent practice of individualism as opposed to a one time communism where people found happiness in sharing and happiness in building together. . . When people were not afraid to make sacrifices for unity and peace even in our diversity. When? When??
