FEMA assures of transparency , as it opens bid for 2021 procurement exercise

The Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency,(FEMA), today opened the technical bids for 2021 procurement of goods, works and service as it assures of transparency .

Director General of FEMA, Alhaji Abbas Idriss who declared the bid open explained that representatives of the bidding companies were invited to the opening via zoom in line with Covid- 19 protocol.

Alhaji Idriss gave the assurance that the entire process would be transparent.

The Acting Director Procurement, Mallam Mohammed Chiroma, who presided over the process said that advertorial were placed accordingly in 3 National dailies, while the bids were collected today as the deadline and opened by 11am.

A total of 24 bids were opened under 4 lots viz,1,2,3 and 4. All the bids were for goods. Lot1 had 7bids, Lot2 had 4,Lot3 had 5 and Lot4 with six bids.

Mallam Chiroma described the process as transparent stated that bids were called, the envelopes examined and recorded.

According to him representatives of the companies, Non Governmental Organizations and the private sector observed the exercise via zoom,to examine the bids and verify that they were not altered, adding that there was no late submission.
