FG builds capacity of NEC officers on data collection

The Federal government started a one-week-long training workshop on data collection for Officers of the National Economic Council(NEC)Secretariat and the Office of the Vice President, in Abuja.

The capacity building workshop, on Advanced Data collection and Analytics, Report writing and presentation, multimedia – web content development and management, organized by the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning and aimed at harnessing creativity and innovation for improved performance, among others.

The Director, Department of Special Duties, Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Mrs. Gloria Kudi Ahmed, who declared the workshop open, commended the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Nebeolisa Anako, for prioritizing staff training and capacity development, in the ministry.

Dr. Ahmed said the training would impact greatly on staff performance and their overall productivity.

She also charged the officers not to take the training opportunity for granted but leverage on the benefits, could not be quantified.

The 2023 workshop version of the NEC training is a yearly activity for such category of staff.

Participants at the training were taken through courses like Supervisory and Delegation Skills; Stress Management: Achieving Work-life Balance; Interpersonal Relations and Conflict Management in the Workplace and Programme Evaluation.
