Flood Disaster Affects Over 18 Villages,Farmlands In Tambuwal And Yabo LGAs

A joint team of NEMA, SOO and SEMA, Sokoto State has conducted a flood assessment in Yabo and Tambuwal Local Government Areas of Sokoto State.

Fresh rainfall caused severe flooding that affected communities in Yabo LGA and Tambuwal LGA.

The communities affected in Yabo LGA include ; Dagawa, Adiga, Torankawa, Dono, Birnin-ruwa, Bulaga of Yabo ‘A’ and Yabo ‘B’ respectively while In Tambuwal, affected communities by the flood include Sanyinna, Romon-Sarki, Romon-liman, Modacci, Gimbana, Kaya, Barga, Iloji, Damaciri, and Bakaya respectively.

Hactares of farmlands were also affected and many people affected are currently displaced.
