Foundation Commences Attitudinal Change Seminar For Police Officers Nationwide

The Foundation for Correction of Moral Decadence (FCMD) has launched a nationwide seminar focused on fostering attitudinal change among personnel of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

The inaugural Attitudinal Change Seminar was kicked off at the Kogi State Police Command on Thursday, July 11, 2025, following recent approval from the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun.

During the seminar, IGP Egbetokun, represented by the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Miller Gajare Dantawaye, emphasized that this initiative serves as an essential tool for positive reorientation, beneficial not only for the men and women of the Nigeria Police Force but also for citizens as a whole.

CP Dantawaye praised IGP Egbetokun for approving the “first of its kind” Attitudinal Change Seminar and Handbook for police personnel. He noted that this initiative is strategically timed, given the ongoing moral decline and corruption pervasive in Nigerian society.

He strongly urged police personnel to reject all forms of bribery and corruption, advocating instead for love among colleagues, diligence at work, and vigilance at all times. Additionally, CP Dantawaye commended FCMD for spearheading the attitudinal change programme for police personnel and citizens in government establishments through a positive and results-oriented seminar and accompanying literature across the country.

Dr. Joseph Danley, the Foundation’s National President, acknowledged the selfless service provided by police officers to citizens and the nation. He reminded them that “they are the backbone of the nation.”

Danley encouraged police personnel to engage in introspection and strive for a positive change in their attitudes, emphasizing their crucial responsibility to protect the lives and property of citizens. He further advised officers to cultivate three fundamental qualities: a fear of God, genuine love for humanity, and patriotism for the country.
He asserted that these vital traits would enable them to perform their duties and civic responsibilities with greater ease, effectiveness, and efficiency.

“With sincerity and dynamism, performing your duty with compassion can make the job much more manageable and fulfilling,” Danley concluded.

The Foundation for Correction of Moral Decadence (FCMD) aims to conduct the attitudinal change seminar across all 36 states of the nation, including the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, subsequently.
