Frsc Special Marshal Takes Safety Campaign to Churches, Warns Against Distractions While Driving

The former zonal coordinator, rs eight of the federal road safety corps, (frsc), solomon joseph on sunday in lokoja warned against distractions and other preventive engineering faults that could cause accident on highways.

Solomon joseph, who stated this at the zonal headquarters church of the christian evangelical fellowship of nigeria, cefn, on sunday, said the campaign to churches is to reduce safety on the roads.

He explained that complying with safety rules will reduce loss of lives and property, warning against distractions of what ever form.

According to him, the wipers, tires, brake system, wind screen and side windows as well as head lights systems must be in good working conditions.

He warned against over speeding, especially at this current rainy season, stressing that an average speed limit should be maintained and adopting some common senses to avert accident.

“As a driver, you have to be cautious of your environment, and every driver should embrace what is termed “Defensive driving”, and of course, in driving, you are the only good or right person, every other person should be seen as a mad person”, he stated.

Solomon joseph maintained that wisdom is profitable to direct, explaining that it is always best to park while it rains heavily in order to guarantee long life.

In his remarks, the winners unit coordinator, zero two one, lokoja, mr timothy samuel stated that the cefn church was chosen in view of its strategic location and the encouragement by the unit deputy coordinator, mr andrew abimaje.

Mr timothy samuel urged the congregation to also replicate the message of safe driving in other groups to achieve set objectives.

In his speech, the host pastor, reverend philip alhassan expressed appreciation to the special marshal for the enlightenment.

Reverend philip alhassan assured that the church will continue to be a dependable partner in campaigns aimed at making the society a better place for all to live.
