FUL Political Science Department Felicitates Prof. Salisu Usman Ogbo as Vice-Chancellor, PAAU Anyigba

The Department of Political Science, Federal University Lokoja, has congratulated the Vice-Chancellor of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, on his appointment, describing it as well deserved and a source of pride to the department.

The delegation, led by the Head of Department, Professor Abraham Musa Peter, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor on Monday, May 4, 2026, during which they presented a congratulatory message and expressed their goodwill.

Speaking during the visit, Prof. Abraham assured the Vice-Chancellor of the department’s continued prayers and support for his success in office.

The Head of Department encouraged him to sustain his record of excellence and continue to break new ground, as demonstrated during his tenure as Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.

In a congratulatory message, the department described Prof. Usman’s appointment as a significant milestone and expressed confidence in his ability to lead the university to greater heights.

The message read in part: “The staff, students, and secretariat of the Department of Political Science, Federal University Lokoja, felicitate with you on your well-deserved appointment as Vice-Chancellor of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba.”

The department also prayed for divine wisdom, good health, and strength for the Vice-Chancellor to excel in the administration of the university, noting that he has continued to make them proud through his support and sacrifices toward shared academic goals.

In his response, Professor Usman appreciated members of the department for the visit and their show of solidarity.

He specifically praised Prof. Abraham Musa Peter, noting that, as an alumnus of the institution, he has made it proud through his achievements and contributions.

The Vice-Chancellor emphasised the importance of celebrating others, stating that “when you celebrate others, you are equally celebrating yourself.”

He further recalled that his career progression has been firmly rooted in teaching, research, and community development.

Prof. Usman assured that he would continue to break new ground in his academic and administrative journey, adding that his commitment to excellence would remain steadfast.

He described himself as an ambassador of the department and pledged not to disappoint in the responsibilities entrusted to him.

He also reaffirmed his support for the advancement of the Department of Political Science, assuring that his doors will always remain open for collaboration and institutional development.

The highlight of the visit was the presentation of customised roll-up banners to the Vice-Chancellor by the delegation as an expression of their solidarity, support, and enduring academic connection.
