… As Wike approves the sum of N1.3 billion to compensate victims

The FCT Minister, Barr. Nysome Wike has threatened to sack the Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority, FCDA, Engr. Richard Yunana Dauda for an alleged attempt to defraud Gishiri indigenes who were affected by the demolition of their compensation.
Wike issued the sack threat on Monday after he addressed some stakeholders and Gishiri leaders and found out about some shady deals which the ES allegedly engaged in paying compensation to the victims.
The FCT minister expressed anger when he heard about the ES shady deals because as an indigene of Abuja he has betrayed the trust reposed on him by his people and government.
Instantly, the minister warned the ES to retrace his steps by paying the victims what he approved or be sacked.
The minister became enraged when he learnt that the ES in agreement with the department of Compensation and Relocation are defrauding the victims and giving them far below what he has approved.
Wike disclosed that he has approved the sum of 1.3 billion Naira for compensation for Gishiri victims affected by the demolition excercise.
The ES trouble started when the a youth leader of Gishiri community, Umaru Godwin accused him of changing the Minister’s instructions concerning their relocation.
Godwin reported that the ES had deviated from the Minister’s directives by allocating a water logged environment, where the victims of the demolition will not be able to build any structure.
Another community member, Princess Jonah alleged that thw victims were protesting because he offered just N72,000 to victims per building.
Recall that 455 locals were affected by the demolition at Gishiri community.
