…Says Amudah immediate past Osun NUT Chairman.

The immediate past Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, Osun State Wing, Comrade Wakeel Alade Amudah has called on the entire members of the union to demonstrate their unflinching support to the newly elected Chairman of the union, Comrade Adekomi Kabiru Adekunle.

Comrade Amudah made this call in his farewell speech to the members of the union on Friday at the Osun Teachers House, Iwo road in Osogbo the capital of Osun State.
Comrade Amudah said members should extend same hands of love, fellowship and support to the new Chairman for him to succeed in office saying “a tree cannot make a forest”.
The former Osun NUT Chairman who appreciated the almighty God and members across board for their support and cooperation to him while in office also thanked the leadership of ANCOPSS and AOPSHON.
Comrade Amudah who was elected as the Osun NUT Chairman in November 2014 was also reelected in 2018 in which his tenure in office ends on Sunday the 28th of February, 2021 which made him to bow out finally from the service as a member and Chairman of the NUT.
According to Comrade Amudah, ” some of the achievements made while in office includes, for the first time in the history of Osun NUT, the tenure was able to inaugurate the Forum of Chairmen at the Local Branches to discuss the affairs of teachers at local level and suggest ideas for the state wing on ways to better the teachers affairs.
“Similarly, Osun NUT became a force to be reckoned with at both local, regional and national, a development which earned Osun Chairmanship position in the region. Promotion of teachers in 2018 and conversion of all teachers to administrative cadre where all teachers in Osun now enjoying smooth and unimpeded career progression to grade level 17 leading to being appointed for the first time in the history of teaching profession in the state as Tutors General and Permanent Secretaries.
” Also, the recent approval by the federal government for a 65 years retirement and 40 years in service came during my NUT executive among other numerous achievements” Comrade Amudah said.
In his acceptance speech, the new Osun NUT Chairman, Comrade Adekomi Kabiru Adekunle thanked the immediate past Chairman of the unio, Comrade Wakeel Alade Amudah and all members of the union for electing him as the new leader of the union promised to follow Comrade Amudah’s foot step and assured not to let entire teachers down.
Earlier in his welcome address, the General Secretary of the Osun NUT, Comrade Salami Bariyu Olukayode commended the teachers in the state for their understanding and for their unalloyed support and cooperation towards the development of the union in the state.
