Gospel Icon Morenikeji ‘Egbin Orun’ Passes Away

The Gospel music community mourns the loss of Morenikeji Adeleke, fondly known as Egbin Orun, as news of her passing spreads.

Her colleague, Esther Igbekele, shared the heartbreaking news via an Instagram post late Saturday, expressing deep sorrow over the demise of the beloved singer. Igbekele described Egbin Orun as a beautiful and compassionate woman who had been a strong supporter of her ministry.

Recalling their conversation just last week, Igbekele lamented the sudden departure of Egbin Orun, emphasizing the profound impact she had on her life and ministry.

The Instagram post read, “I returned from my program only to receive this devastating news. Prophetess Morenikeji Egbin Orun, you left without bidding farewell. We had a conversation just last week, unaware that you were about to embark on your journey to the great beyond. You were not only beautiful and kind-hearted but also a great supporter of my ministry. Your passing has left a void that cannot be filled.”

Expressing her grief with tearful emojis, Igbekele bid farewell to Egbin Orun, wishing her eternal rest in the arms of Christ.

In another heartfelt post on her Instagram handle early Sunday, Igbekele extended her condolences once again, paying tribute to Egbin Orun as an angel whose presence will be deeply missed.

As of now, the cause of Egbin Orun’s death remains undisclosed, with no official statement released by her family or the Gospel Musicians Association of Nigeria. The Gospel music community mourns her loss and celebrates her legacy, remembering her as a shining light whose music touched countless hearts.
