Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia has advocated robost engagements among stakeholders on intelligence gathering and sharing for national security and economic advancement of the country.
The Governor who gave this counsel when the participants of advance Intelligence Officers Course 14 from Intelligence College Abuja who were in the state for study tour visited him at the Government House, Makurdi.
Governor Alia noted that such engagements are pertinent in identifying and finding solutions to the route causes of various forms of conflicts and criminality currently rocking the nation.
He expressed worry over the pains the country has experienced from banditry, terrorism and communa conflicts, noting that there is need for strategic plan to end the dasterdly acts towards faster development of Nigeria.
Earlier in his remarks, leader of the team, O.O Oshuntokin averred that the tour was in fulfilment of recruitment for the completion of the Officers Course 14 with focus on preventing communal crises through actionable intelligence for national security.
Mr Oshuntokin maintained that the choice of Benue State was as a result of the flash points discovered in the state in recent times, assuring that findings at the end of the course would be made available to the state for necessary action in tackling insecurity in the state and North Central in general.
