Gov. Bello commissions Digital Telemetry, Manual weather stations in Bagana, KSU In Kogi

In his bid to stem the tide of flooding and associated weather challenges facing the state the Kogi State Governor,  Alhaji Yahaya Bello has Commissioned Automatic Telemetry and Manual weather stations at Bagana in Omala LGA and Kogi state university Anyigba in Dekina Local Government Area respectively.

The governor who was represented at the Commissioning of the project, the Commissioner for Environment, Hon Victor Adewale Omofaiye urged the people to support Governor Yahaya Bello led administration in ensuring that the equipment are judiciously put to use.

He noted that the data collected would be used to improve on fishing and farming activities, which is the major occupations of the area, urging them to adhere strictly to the safety measures when threats of flash flooding and actual flooding occurred.

At the Kogi state university Anyigba , the commissioner thanked the Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Mrs.) Marietu Tenuche for the show of enthusiasm, as the team was treated to a rousing welcome.

He reminded the Vice Chancellor of the competing demands for the locations, but the Governor, however, chose the University as his show of love for the Institution.

While reiterating the need for adequate care of the installed equipment, as well as put to optimal use, the Commissioner pointed out that the equipment would aid teaching and learning by the students in the department of Geography and allied courses.

In her speech, the Project Coordinator, Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jatto congratulated the Vice Chancellor and the entire University community for the choice of the University for the installation of the state of the art equipment; and called for the protection of the equipments
