Gov. Ishaku Commissions campaign Secretariat

Taraba State Governor, Darius Dickson Ishaku yesterday, commissioned the 20 Million Igbo’s PDP campaign Secretariat for Atiku/Obi and Ishaku in Jalingo, the State capital.

Governor Ishaku, who doubles as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship flag bearer for 2019 general elections, pledged to provide adequate security for the Igbos in the State during the 2019 general elections.

The Governor, who stormed Jalingo, from Abuja where he received the flag of PDP, was welcomed by Party supporters at the Danbaba Suntai Airport, from where he proceeded to commission the Secretariat located along Jalingo – Wukari road.

Ishaku who was excited over the decision of the Igbos to remain in the State and cast their votes come 2019 further pledged his administration’s readiness to provide adequate security and the “wherewithal” for them to operate.

“We want you to remain here, we will provide you the Security and the wherewithal that this election will be run in peace” said.

In his address of welcome, the State Coordinator 20 Million Igbos for Atiku/Obi and 700,000 Igbos for Ishaku, High Chief, Obi Chris, disclosed that all Igbos in the State will stay and vote in the 2019 elections.

According to him “on several occasions, we Igbos will abandon our place of trade and millions of Naira business investments and run away for fear of insecurity during elections, thereby invalidating our votes, as we don’t cast votes in Taraba and cannot cast votes in our States of origin.

“Today, Igbos of Taraba have stood firm to adjudicate, educate and sensitise our brothers to stay and cast votes during elections”, he added.

High Chief Obi Chris said the project was targeting 20 million Igbos in the 19 Northern States and FCT for Atiku/Obi and 700,000 Igbos for Darius Ishaku.

He also appreciated the Governor for appointing two Igbo sons in his Cabinet.

In his remarks, the founder, 20 Million Igbos for Atiku/Obi and 700,000 for Ishsku in Taraba State, Chief Uche Obi lauded Governor Ishaku for coming in person to commission the Secretariat.

Uche Obi, who is the Managing Director, Uche Obi Investments Ltd, a Building Materials Merchant based in Jalingo the Taraba State capital further reassured Governor Ishaku and the people of the State the Igbos’ decision to vote marcively for PDP during the forth coming elections.

Our Correspondent, reports that Igbo sons and daughters in the State came out in large number to grace the occasion with the display of cultural dances and masquerades by the Youths and Women which added colour to the Event.
