Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has strongly condemned the recent attack on Alh. Muritala Yakubu Ajaka at the Supreme Court. The incident occurred shortly after the Court’s decision on the electoral litigations involving the governors of Kogi, Imo, and Bayelsa States.
In a statement issued in Lokoja by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, Governor Ododo described the actions of the attackers as barbaric, uncivilized, and a serious threat to the integrity of the judicial system. He called on Nigerians to avoid resorting to self-help and to uphold the principles of law and order.
The Governor also urged law enforcement agencies to identify and apprehend those responsible for the attack, emphasizing the need for justice to deter future incidents and safeguard the sanctity of court environments nationwide.
“We encourage all Nigerians to embrace the values of constitutionalism and unity championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. Supporting these principles is essential for the progress and development of our nation,” the statement concluded.
