Gov Okowa calls for Nigerians to be united

By Jennifer Y Omiloli

Delta Governor, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa, urged Nigerians to take action to consolidate the country’s bond of unity.

The governor made an appeal in Asaba on Friday, November 1 when he was visited by a Nigerian Air Force delegation.

According to the governor, the country’s unity must transcend any other interest, even as he urged Nigerians to avoid any act that could contribute to the country’s loss of confidence or crisis.

His words: “We are at a very difficult time in our nation and we are starting to hear the negative voices which are unfortunate and ought not to be.

“The negativity is growing continuously and we are beginning to become suspicious of one another, and it should not be so.”

He said peace and stability in Nigeria had to be expected, stressing that if unified, the whole country would step forward.
