By Isaac Kertyo, Makurdi

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has blamed high level of insecurity confronting the nation to lack of effective communication between government and the organised Private Sector and other relevant stakeholders.

The Governor said this Monday when the President and Chairman in Council, Nigeria Institute for Public Relations(NIPR), Mallam Muktar Zubairu paid a visit to him at the Government House Makurdi.

Ortom maintained that effective communication was a base line for peaceful co-existence and development of any society.

The Governor who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Engr. Benson Abounu, urged the institute to play it’s role of ensuring that the current security challenge bedeviling the country is nibbed in the bud.

He applauded the organization for celebrating one of its own, Dr Tyotom Keghku whom a book was written in his honour.

Earlier, the President of the Institute, Mallam Zubairu called on the state government to key into the compliance of the NIPR Act by appointing capable experts to operate the communication Unit in the state.

He promised to partner with the state government for faster development.
