Gov Ortom Withdraws Suit Against Benue North West Senator-elect

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom on Tuesday withdrew the suit he filled before the National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal against Benue North West Senator-elect, Mr Titus Zam.

The Governor who contested the Benue North West Senatorial Seat but lost to Mr Zam, announced the decision while briefing Journalists at Government House, Makurdi shortly after meeting with stakeholders of the party in Benue North Senatorial District and members of his campaign team.

The Governor pointed out that he decided to withdraw the suit in the interest of peace and without prejudice to the suit filed by other candidates of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

His words: ” Though there was glaring evidence of malpractice including non transmission of results electronically during the conduct of Benue North West Senatorial election. I have taken the decision to withdraw my case at the Tribunal, as the Bible says in John 3: 27 that ” A man shall receive nothing except it is giving to him from above”.

Ortom maintained that as a leader, he will continue to support the PDP with other leaders to enable it bounce back from the mistakes and drawbacks that are bedeviling it.

Governor Ortom assured that as leader, he will continue to offer selfless service in all sectors of development till the end of his tenure on the 29 May, 2023. Ends
