A former Permanent Secretary in Kano State, Malam Ahmad Tijjani Abdullahi, has described Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a positive development for the state’s political landscape.Abdullahi, who also served as Executive Secretary of the Kano State Science and Technical Schools Board, made the remarks in a goodwill message following the governor’s formal defection ceremony held in Kano on Monday.
He congratulated Governor Yusuf, the 44 local government chairmen and members of the state legislature, expressing optimism that the move would promote unity within the APC and across Kano State.
According to Abdullahi, the governor’s leadership would further strengthen democratic governance and accelerate development in the state. He said he believes the defection will enhance political stability and foster inclusive governance for residents.“
I am optimistic that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s defection to the ruling party will bring unity and progress to Kano politics,” Abdullahi said.He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his administration’s policies and acknowledged the role of former APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, in Kano’s political development.
The former permanent secretary further sympathised with traders affected by the recent fire incident at Singer Market, which reportedly destroyed goods and properties worth millions of naira.
