Gunmen Abduct Plateau Assembly Lawmaker

Gunmen have kidnapped the lawmaker representing Pankshin South Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Laven Denty Jacob.

The incident occurred on Monday night at his residence in Angwan Kagji, Dong, Jos North Local Government Area.

A close aide, who worked with Jacob during his tenure as Vice Chairman of Pankshin Local Government under the Simon Lalong administration, said the lawmaker was attacked around 8:30 p.m. He explained that Jacob had just returned home and was waiting at his gate when masked men struck, dragging him out of his vehicle and whisking him away to an unknown location.

As of the time of filing this report, the state assembly leadership was yet to confirm the development. However, the matter has been reported to security agencies, though they have not officially reacted.
