The FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board will commence its third phase of Education and Orientation Exercise on Saturday, 28th, and Sunday, 29th March 2026, for intending pilgrims who had registered for this year’s Hajj through the Board.
In a press release signed by Ahmad Saleh, Chief Information Officer,
FCT MPWB, the two- day program commences by 8:00 am daily at the Board’s Permanent Hajj Transit Camp, Bassan Jiwa, near the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.
Intending pilgrims are urged to attend the program, as important educational and informative lessons and instructions on new Hajj policies, programmes and activities for the conduct of the 2026 Hajj exercise will be discussed.
Director of the Board Malam Kadiri Edah, in an exclusive media chat with journalists in his office, described the program as crucial to intending pilgrims to impart essential knowledge on how to perform an acceptable Hajj in an acceptable Islamic manner.
Malam Kadiri also noted that the Saudi policy directives on Hajj exercise, the rules, and regulations of both Nigeria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on immigration and customs services, drug administration and associated danger for trafficking, the need for personal hygiene and safety, among other topics would also be discussed for the benefit of the intending pilgrims.
He further noted that the board has put all the necessary measures on the ground to make sure that the program and the subsequent activities of the board on the Hajj exercise are a massive success.
Kadiri further reaffirmed the board’s commitments to improved pilgrims welfare services, better accommodations, prompt and timely airlift of the intending pilgrims, and other logistical preparations for this year’s Hajj exercise and beyond.
It could be recalled that the Board, in the past, had conducted two series of Education and Orientation Exercise programs, compulsory medical screening of intending pilgrims’ physical and mental health status, receipt of intending pilgrims’ visas and other travel documents, amongst others, as part of the Board’s early preparations for a successful and hitch-free Hajj exercise this year, in accordance with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and the Saudi Arabian policy on Hajj for 2026 exercise.
