The Hazras Charity Foundation has successfully completed the distribution of educational materials to 1,000 vulnerable pupils and students across 10 local government areas in Kano and Jigawa States.
The beneficiaries, including orphans, children with special needs, and pupils from low-income families, were carefully selected after a comprehensive eligibility assessment conducted by the foundation.
According to the Board of Trustees Chairlady, Hajiya Lauratu Ado Diso, and the National Chairman, Dr. Abdullateef Abdulkadir, the initiative aims to support education development at the grassroots level and complement government efforts in improving learning conditions for underprivileged children.
The distribution exercise covered six local government areas in Kano State—Gwale, Kumbotso, Wudil, Dambatta, Gezawa, Ungogo, and Rimin Gado—and extended to Jahun, Dutse, and Birnin Kudu in Jigawa State.
Speaking during the event, Hajiya Diso commended the smooth and transparent execution of the program, describing it as a milestone in promoting inclusive education in Northern Nigeria. She emphasized that the foundation remains committed to empowering disadvantaged students through sustained educational interventions.
Parents, teachers, and local stakeholders who benefited from the exercise praised the foundation’s gesture, describing it as a timely intervention that will enhance pupils’ access to learning materials and encourage school attendance.
In their joint remarks, Hajiya Diso and Dr. Abdulkadir appreciated Muslim Aid Australia (MAA) for partnering with Hazras Charity Foundation as a delivery partner in Nigeria, reaffirming their commitment to ensuring that future outreach programs reach the most deserving beneficiaries.
Educational managers and stakeholders from both states also lauded the initiative, noting that such partnerships between non-governmental organizations and local communities play a crucial role in supporting the government’s educational objectives, especially in rural areas.
The foundation reiterated its pledge to sustain similar interventions to improve literacy levels, promote school retention, and inspire academic excellence among disadvantaged children.
