Impressive voter turnout in A’Ibom

By Odo Ogenyi,Uyo

Turnout of voters for today’s national elections have been impressive in Akwa Ibom despite the late arrival of materials in many pooling units especially in Uyo.

This is even as EFCC officials were seen in some of the polling units advising voters against being used by unscropulous party agents, giving them numbers to call if coarsed to collect money.

Newsmen observed that voting only  commenced in the four polling units in Uyo metropolis though the main RAC along Wellington Bassey way was still distributing voting materials as at 9.30am.

Voters turned out as early as 8am waiting to be accredited with some polling units already set up and ready for the exercise but it was discovered that arrangement for transportation of Adhoc staff and materials very chaotic.

There were several complaints from some supposedly ad-hoc staff that their names has not appeared on the ashoc list.
