Insecurity: Wike Pronise To Replicate Bus Terminals in Gwagwalada, Bwari

By Joyce Remi-Babayeju

In the spirit of rural infrastructural development, the FCT Minister Barr. Nysome Wike has promised to replicate two more bus terminals in Gwagwalada and Bwari would beat one- chance and insecurity in satellite towns.

Wike disclosed this on Saturday in Abuja after the inspection of the Abuja International Conference Center, AlCC , and 12-kilometre road project in the Ushafa area of Bwari Area Council.
The minister stated that siting two more bus terminals in Gwagwalada and Bwari to complement Kugbo and Mabushi bus terminals will help to decongest the city, privide security and ease transportation challenges.

“From here to the city, it’s not up to 35 minutes, and that’s the essence of decongesting the city, making people to stay within their satellite town. Because if you provide the amenities, nobody will be interested in moving to the cities.”
“Urban and rural migration is actually because of lack of amenities and infrastructure in the rural areas.”

The minister reinstated that with the provision
of bus terminal points, the government has fulfilled its part of securing the lives of the people.
He said, “Obviously, last time we went to Mabushi and Kugbo, of course we will have another one in the central area. We have agreed that we’re going to establish one in Gwagwalada and one in Bwari, so that people can have the choice of going to the city from Bwari, Kugbo, Mabushi or Gwagwalada, adding that these terminals would ease transportation from satellite towns to the city, while securing lives .

“By the time we have done that, you can imagine that people will be safe, people will be secured. You can now go to any bus terminal, board a bus or a taxi, and go to where you’re going to without having this problem of one chance.”

The minister reinstated that by providing bus terminal points, the government has fulfilled its own part of securing the lives of the people.
However, the minister assured that the president
would commission projects in satellite towns and projects that touch the lives.
