Isaac Balami, an APC Chieftain and former Deputy Campaign Manager for the Obi/Datti 2023 election, has responded to Joe Igbokwe’s comments about Seyi Tinubu. Igbokwe, in a recent Facebook post, argued that leading Lagos is “not a job for the boys.” He claimed the push for Seyi Tinubu was a distraction aimed at undermining President Bola Tinubu.
Balami fired back, promising to rally his supporters if Seyi Tinubu decides to run for governor. He criticized Igbokwe’s statement, calling it outdated. According to Balami, young leaders have historically delivered good governance. He pointed to figures like Yakubu Gowon, Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, and Obafemi Awolowo, who led at young ages.
Balami also reminded Igbokwe that his political rise began in Lagos as a young man. He believes that Seyi Tinubu, at 42 in 2027, is well-positioned to lead Lagos effectively. He argued that youth-led leadership is the future of good governance.
In conclusion, Balami urged Igbokwe to support Seyi Tinubu and stop criticizing the young aspirant. He stressed the importance of youth-driven leadership for Lagos’s progress.
