The Federal Government has declared Monday, June 17, and Tuesday, June 18, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.

Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo announced the holidays on behalf of the Federal Government, congratulating all Muslim faithful both at home and abroad. This announcement was detailed in a statement signed by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako.

Tunji-Ojo urged the Muslim community to continue embodying the spirit of peace, kindness, and sacrifice exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him). He also called for prayers for the unity, prosperity, and stability of the country during this period.

He encouraged all Muslim faithful and Nigerians to support and cooperate with the President’s efforts to diversify the economy and accelerate the nation’s economic recovery.

Wishing the Muslim community a joyous Eid-ul-Adha celebration, the Minister also advised all Nigerians to take collective responsibility in ensuring a prosperous future for the nation’s children.
